To the lady whose letter was in The Meridian Star (“Bible silent on abortion question, she says,” Wednesday, June 7) in which she said she was confused about having or not having abortions. Believe God, not me, not Ella Johnson. I will repeat the two texts from the Bible.

Exodus 21: 22-23, if men strive and hurt a woman with child, so that her child departs from her (has a miscarriage) you shall give life for life.

Psalms 139:13: “Your (God) have protected me in my mother’s womb.” Anyone who really wants the truth, knows how God feels about abortion. We know abortion is “killing” precious life in the mother’s womb. God does not have to use the word “abortion” for me to know it is killing babes in their mothers’ wombs.

The Bible does not say don’t drink beer and whisky, it does not say don’t smoke cigarettes, but we know they are wrong from scriptures that instruct us on how to treat our bodies. To not defile our bodies.

Mrs. Johnson accused me falsely of forcing my beliefs on pro-choice women. She does not know what was in my heart when I wrote the letter, which is also judging me, which is very characteristic of the pro-choicers, homosexuals and lesbians. The Bible tells me in Isaiah 58:1-7, cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show my people their sins.

1 Timothy 5:20: “Them that sin rebuke before all, that they also may fear.”

Mrs. Johnson says, “If the fetus were considered human, the punishment for injuring the fetus would be the same punishment as that for injuring the pregnant woman.” This is not true. The woman was only injured, but the child died, for scripture says, “If any mischief follow you shall give life for life.” Read it again, Mrs. Johnson! Maybe I showed all you I don’t know if you are married or not.

2 Timothy 3:16: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” This includes the Old Testament.

I had a real-life experience of how God wanted me and my baby to live. I was in a terrible condition when I got pregnant with my fifth child, my first little girl. No amount of treatment helped much. I was afraid I was going to die. I was tempted to wish I would have a miscarriage, but God inspired me to pray. I did. He got me and my baby through safely.

Ella, I would like very much that you and I could get together and discuss this abortion issue in a loving and Christ-like way. Don’t be deceived any longer.

In 2 Timothy 3, it says that in the last days people will be without natural affections (mothers who have their babies aborted are without natural affection), deceiving and being deceived, false accusers, dispersers of those that are good.

Never in all my 78 years on this earth have I heard so much false-accusing, many Democrats falsely accuse Republicans. And Christians are accused of “hate speech” if they teach against their evil ways.
