Clarkdale High School student Morgan Reed donated $700 to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund during a check presentation at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.

Morgan raised the money by challenging her fellow students at Clarkdale to wear green — the official ribbon color of liver cancer — in memory of her grandmother, Minnie Reed, who had liver cancer.

Morgan has also donated hats, scarves and lap blankets for Anderson Regional Cancer Center patients, and she visits with patients as part of the Debs service group.

Morgan has challenged other schools to get involved and to help raise money for the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
