Meridian High School's 2015 Homecoming Parade is Thursday in downtown Meridian.

Elizabeth McDonald, public relations director for Meridian Public School District, said participants should begin lining up in front of the district's Central Office (1019 25th Ave.) at 4:30 p.m. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.

The parade will start at Central Office and proceed south to Ninth Street; east to 21st Avenue; south to Sixth Street; and west to end at Meridian City Hall, located at 601 23rd Ave.

The Homecoming King will be crowned during the pep rally in front of City Hall, McDonald said, and the Homecoming Court also will be presented. The Homecoming Court also will be presented at a pep rally Friday at Meridian High School.

The Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime at Friday's homecoming game, when the Meridian High School Wildcats play against Jackson's Jim Hill High School.

School officials said the parade will not be affected by ongoing downtown road construction.
