A black male on Tuesday came into the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office and said he had been robbed at gunpoint on Monday, Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said.
"It was in an area where they sell a lot of drugs," Calhoun said.
The man told deputies he had helped his sister fight off some black males. After the fight, he said, they chased him down and took his wallet and cellphone at gunpoint.
Deputies are investigating, Calhoun said.
