Wesley House Community Center Inc. will take applications for Christmas Assistance from Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Nov. 17.
Applicants should come to Wesley House, 1520 Eighth Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon, or from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Individuals must provide the following when filling out application:
n Photo identification
n Proof of all income from the household where they live from any source, including work (paycheck stub)
n Social Security cards for all members of the household
n SSI, retirement, child support, public assistance and food stamps documentation from the Department of Human Services
n Current receipts for rent or mortgage, and utility bills (electric, gas, water)
New toys, food and clothing are provided for those who are eligible, as well as for foster children in this area. Items will be distributed the week before Christmas. This, as always, is a community effort and all donations are greatly appreciated.
It is important to know that Wesley House is the Christmas Clearing House in our community. This is a portion of the Wesley Christmas where other agencies and people who live in the area may call and clear the names of people that they want to help at Christmastime. This helps avoid duplication of services.
For more information, call (601) 485-4736.
