The theme of today’s “Remember When” broadcast on WMER-AM 1390 is The Spirit of America. The show begins at 9:30 a.m.

It will be a salute to two Mississippians who gained international fame, whose voices were heard around the world on the pioneer RCA Victor Records label — Meridian’s native son, Jimmie Rodgers, and Elvis Presley, originally from Tupelo.

A salute to our country and our heroes, the servicemen and women who have paid the price for our liberty, will also be included in the Spirit of America broadcast.

Veteran radio personality Noel Adcock will supply most of the patriotic music. Jimmy Crane, a well-known fiddle player and entertainer, and Don Hayes, an Elvis fan/historian, will be featured.

For listeners who want to call in live during the show, the telephone number is (601) 693-6397.
