Meridian police have arrested one of two suspects in a strong armed robbery Saturday morning.

Quincy Fox, 17, of Paulding, was arrested at a relative’s home Saturday night in Jasper County.

Lt. Dean Harper said that around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Fox and an unnamed 15-year-old from Meridian allegedly robbed an elderly woman by force in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Highway 39 North. The victim reported that the suspects took money from her, and Harper said she sustained “very minor injuries.”

Harper said the name of the second suspect would not be released and that police are close to apprehending him.

“We know who he is; we just haven’t gotten our hands on him yet,” Harper said.

Fox, who was charged with strong armed robbery, was being held Monday in the Meridian city jail awaiting a preliminary hearing. His bond has been set at $20,000.
