from special reports

An East Mississippi man whose arrest culminates an 18-month drug investigation is being held under $750,000 bond in the Neshoba County Jail, according to Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Marshall Fisher.

Calvin Wesley Moore, 56, of 12591 Road 571 in Philadelphia, faces possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine charges stemming from a search warrant executed at his home Thursday by MBN agents and sheriff’s deputies in Leake, Neshoba and Winston counties.

Moore also is charged with nine counts of sale of cocaine and marijuana resulting from undercover operations in the ongoing investigation, Director Fisher said.

The search of Moore’s home led to the seizure of three pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,200 and nearly an ounce of cocaine with an estimated street value of $800.

In addition, officers seized the suspect’s home valued at approximately $150,000, a 2003 Chevrolet Z71 pickup, a fishing boat and approximately $3,000 in cash, Director Fisher said.
