Meridian Public School District announced Thursday that Meridian High School Assistant Principal Bruce Pugh will be the new principal for Northwest Middle School. Marty Everett, also a Meridian High School assistant principal, will assume duties as assistant principal at Northwest.
“Mr. Pugh is a proven and effective secondary school leader,” said Dr. Terry Larabee, interim superintendent. “I think he will be a great fit for Northwest.”
“I look forward to the challenge to work with the staff at Northwest to meet the needs of today’s students,” said Pugh.
“It’s all about doing what is best for the children,” Everett said.
Northwest Middle School serves nearly 600 students in grades six through eight.
Current Northwest Middle School Principal Kim Kendrick will transition to T.J. Harris Elementary school.
“Kendrick is returning to her roots in the elementary setting,” said Larabee. "We look forward to seeing T.J. Harris thrive under her leadership.”
“Elementary students are my passion” said Kendrick. “I look forward to working with the faculty and staff at T. J. Harris.”
T. J. Harris Elementary serves approximately 700 students in grades K–5.
