The six-story, 133-room Hilton Garden Inn is open for business in Meridian.

Construction began in January 2006. Today the hotel will be the site of an East Mississippi Business and Development Corp., “Business After Hours” meeting from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

The guest rooms, including eight parlor rooms and two suites are complimented by banquet and meeting rooms, breakout parlors and adjoining patios, a business center, indoor pool, spa, outdoor sun deck, fitness center, the “Great American Grill” and plenty of space to relax in the pavilion.

“It is extremely exciting for Meridian to have this caliber of hotel; and the local response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Steve Anderson, general manager of the new hotel. “Our sincere commitment, to provide the highest quality of service in a friendly, relaxed professional atmosphere, has been the goal from day one. Extensive guest services training has helped ensure the level of service that is expected by Hilton Garden Inn guests.”

Meetings, conferences and receptions are on the calendar for the new Hilton Garden Inn. The 1,760 square-feet of banquet and meeting facilities and a large pre-function foyer include three break-out rooms (with a combined seating of up to 195) which overlook the garden area. In addition is a richly furnished private board room. Meals can be catered in and audio-visual equipment is provided — including a built-in state-of-the-art sound system designed by Meridian-based Peavey Electronics.

An all-you-can-eat cooked-to-order hot buffet breakfast is served daily at the Hilton’s “Great American Grill” — and guests are treated each weekday morning to a complimentary copy of USA Today. Guests may enjoy a fully-equipped Fitness Center, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, and a “Pavilion Pantry” stocked with sundries, beverages, snacks and ready-to-cook microwavable meals.

The Meridian Hilton Garden Inn is a franchise with Hilton International. Inn Serve Corporation of Meridian provides consulting services.
