Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday:

    • Simple assault causing bodily injury – Don Allen, 37, 4294 Highway 11 S., Meridian. Allen is also charged with simple assault.

    • Disorderly conduct/Failure to obey law enforcement officer – Orlando Sanchez Bursey, 29, 381 56th Ave., Meridian.

    • Disorderly conduct/Failure to obey law enforcement officer – Christal R. Edwin-Grace, 40, 381 56th Ave., Meridian.

    • Armed robbery – Darvion D. Earl, 21, 2204 10th Ave., Meridian. Earl is also charged for felon carrying a concealed weapon.

    • Shoplifting – Bridgett Shelton, born in 1958, 5479 Russell Topton Road

    • Shoplifting – Shannon Williams, born in 1971, 1734 Hwy 11, Meridian.

    • Simple assault – John D. Simmons, born in 1952.

    • Carrying concealed weapon – Demetrius Clark, born in 1987.

    • Possession of marijuana, Mario Thomas, born in 1980.

    • 1700 block of 17th Avenue, Meridian.

    • 300 block of Sixth Avenue, Meridian.

Shootings

     Meridian police responded to 3 shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's      Department

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday:

    • Embezzlement – Rebecca Kynard Cross, 51, 4300 East Bay Drive, Clearwater, Fla. Cross is being held for an outside agency/law enforcement.

    • Contraband in correctional facility – Traci Marie Cross, 21, 121 Cross Road, Meridian.

    • Shoplifting, two counts – Olyn Martez Davis, 23, 4720 Hickory Hillcrest, Meridian.

    • Failure to appear (justice court), two counts – Daramus L. Grady, 24, 205 Fish Ave., DeKalb.

    • Uttering, forgery – Lindsey Danielle Harris, 32, 8325 Highway 503, Hickory.

    • Driving Under the Influence (DUI), first offense – Zanthony T. Harris, 24, 1116 36th Ave., Meridian.

    • Possession of methamphetamine – Jonathan Howard Mozingo, 42, 2082 Matthews Drive, Richland.

    • DUI, first offense – Sarah Louise Pruitt, 39, 1604 12th Ave., Meridian. Pruitt is also charged with reckless driving, driving without a license and violation of insurance card in vehicle law.

    • DUI, first offense – Morris Roland Robinson Jr., 53, 5402 Gene Carr Road, Meridian.

    • Burglary-commercial building, cars, etc. – Derrick LaShawn Wats, 29, 4908 Third St., Meridian.

    The Mississippi Department of Corrections reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday:

    • Possession of marijuana, more than 30 grams – Santonio Sherell Heidelberg Jr., 22, 3817 31st St., Meridian.

East Mississippi Drug Task Force

    The East Mississippi Drug Task Force reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday:

    • Fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle – Derrick DeWayne Moffite, 31, 2222 47th Ave., Meridian. Moffite is also charged with failure to yield o blue light/siren and disregard of traffic device (two counts).
