Why are you running: It is my passion to serve others. I can't think of a better way to serve my community than to hold a public office. I look forward to being able to positively effect the lives of numerous Newton County residents.

Why are you a good candidate: I'm a great candidate for the office of Justice Court Judge District 1 Newton County, because I am compassionate, and fair. I believe those are the two most important qualities one must have to positively serve the community. I am also a devout Christian who puts God first before any decisions are made. My grandfather, Ted Adkins, served the Newton County community for years and it is my goal to continue his selfless work. I would greatly appreciate any and every vote for Justice Court Judge District 1 Newton County.

Education: Graduated president of my class at Newton Academy, took one year of basics at East Central Community College, and currently working to obtain my bachelor of science in digital cinematography at Full Sail University online.

Work experience: Over the past 13 years I’ve worked in different areas in law enforcement. I have worked as a police officer, corrections, fugitive recovery, and I’m currently a lieutenant at the state prison. I am the founder/CEO of a local charity called Sports Ministries. We host sporting events to raise money for people in need, and I’m also the co owner to a Christian production company called Rydan Media LLC.

Why are you running: I’m running for this office, because I felt called to do so. I have been a servant of the people my whole life, and this is no different.

What makes you a good candidate: I’m a good candidate for this position because of the experience I have had in the Justice Court system through my tenure in law enforcement. I’m a people person, and this job requires someone that can find that fine line between compassionate and consistent. I'm proud to lean on my strong Christian values both in and out of the courtroom and represent the people in my district well. I’m humbled by this experience and I would love your vote. Work experience: I have been in law enforcement for 27 years. I have experience as a patrol officer with the Union Police Department. I have been a school resource officer. I am presently an active member of the Newton County Sheriff Department. I have experience as an investigator, K-9 officer and for the past two years, chief deputy.

Why are you running: I am running for sheriff of Newton County because I believe how you treat people matters. Whether you are a citizen, an offender or the hard-working men and women of law enforcement, you are expected to be treated with respect. Newton County rooted, I have committed my life to protecting and serving our county.

Why are you a good candidate: I believe with my experience, I can give Newton County leadership that understands the importance of professionalism, transparency, integrity, and fairness to all citizens whom we serve. Through the years, I have built trustworthy relationships and partnerships with our community. The people of Newton County know me and have experienced first hand of my commitment to my community.

Why are you running:  Newton County is my home and I am taking this step to try and give back to my community and make a difference.

Why are you a good candidate: I have been serving Newton county for several years as a firefighter and first responder for Union and Greenfield Fire Departments. I also work as a firefighter with the city of Newton and as EMT/driver with Lifecare EMS and Metro Ambulance. As a first responder I have had almost daily contact with the residences of Newton county I have built a bond of caring and trust with them.

Why are you running: It's important to me to be of value to the community. It's why I want to bring my skills and experience to the office of constable.

Why are you a good candidate: I believe that my background and temperament best fit this position. Honesty, morals and integrity are the foundations of trust. I have three years of service as a security guard and my father had two years experience as a Union police officer and 20 years as a state trooper. I have learned through lifelong experience in business management and law enforcement that it is vital to communicate respect and compassion for all individuals. I am uniquely qualified to be the next constable because i have the experience and values and character and needed for trust in the public service.
