Meridian Community College student Emily Waddell, 20, of Livingston, Alabama, left, watches as Mississippi Blood Services Phlebotomist Specialist Houston Sherrod attends to her while she prepares to give blood Tuesday on campus. MCC’s Campus Life hosted the event. “MCC has a proud tradition of giving back to the community in many ways. The blood drive is just one way to help ensure our community has everything it needs,” said LeAnne Motes, campus life coordinator. Waddell is a student in the University Transfer Program who plans to study in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. This was the first time she gave blood. The blood drive continues on campus through 3 p.m. Wednesday.
