The November meeting of the Long Creek Community Development Club opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Rae Carol Enzor, club president.

Mac Clark gave the devotional, mentioning Veterans Day and area programs held in honor of the day. She read an article on Thanksgiving, stating that autumn is a beautiful time of year.

Tom Maynor of the Tom Maynor Rehabilitation Center at Riley Hospital was guest speaker. Maynor presented a program on hospital volunteering. He said there is a always a need for volunteers and he mentioned areas where volunteers are helpful. Anyone interested in being a hospital volunteer can call Riley Hospital at (601) 484-3586.

A brief business meeting was held following the program.

Club members voted to re-elect the same slate of officers for the coming year. Peggy Little reported on the Gospel Singing group which meets the second and fourth Friday night of each month at the community center; the Rev. Jack Bonner is in charge and the public is invited.

It was announced that the December meeting will be a joint Christmas dinner with the Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Clark served refreshments. Enzor closed the meeting with a prayer.
