MERIDIAN —     Catherine Compton and Joshua Goodson, both of Baton Rouge, La., were married on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at St. George Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Michael Schatzle officiating.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Compton Jr. of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goodson of Baton Rouge.

    Grandparents of the bride are the Rev. and Mrs. John Cowan of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Bettye Compton and the late William Compton Sr. of Meridian.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by Susan Stringer, pianist, and Angela Sneed, vocalist and organist.

    The bride wore a lace and taffeta gown with overlapping scalloped layers. Her cathedral-length veil was designed and sewn from her mother’s French lace and organza wedding dress.

    Maid of honor was Miss Amanda Broome of Key West, Fla.

    Junior bridesmaid was Mia Goodson.

    Abigail and Isabelle Goodson of Baton Rouge were flower girls.

    Mitchell Martello of Kona, Hawaii, was best man.

    Junior groomsman was Hunter Goodson.

    Ushers were Webb Compton of Hattiesburg and Matthew Goodson of Baton Rouge.

    Watts Goodson of Baton Rouge was the cross bearer.

    Nicholas Goodson of Baton Rouge was ring bearer.

    Readers were Mrs. Erin Cromeans of Oxford and Dr. John Beaudoin of Baton Rouge.

    Program attendant was Mrs. Jenni Barr.

    A reception was held at ReMax First/Pelican Financial Plaza following the ceremony.

    After a honeymoon on the Gulf Coast, the couple resides in Baton Rouge.
