Barber, Roppolo

Amanda Marie Roppolo of Dallas, Texas, and Daniel Forrest Barber, of Dallas, formerly of Meridian, were married Saturday, Sept. 29th, 2007, at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, Texas, with Rev. Stew Grant officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Paul Roppolo, Jr. of Gretna, La., Mr. and Mrs. W. Van Carpenter of The Woodlands, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. James Ivan Barber of Franklin, Tenn., formerly of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Paul Roppolo Sr., of Ponchatoula, La., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allen Biggs, of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Derella Hewitt, of The Woodlands.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mary Evelyn Barber, of Batesville, and the late James Earl Barber Jr., and Lucille Price, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and the late Vader Preston Price.

Music for the ceremony was provided by violinists Rob, Ben, and Molly Kathryn Barber of Hernando, cousins of the bridegroom, and Paul Butt, pianist and organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, handstiched lace overlay and intricate crystal beading, matched on the scalloped, chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and miniature calla lilies, hand tied with ivory satin and adorned with her great-grandmother’s brooch.

Maid of honor was Lisa Robin Feld of Cleveland, Ohio.

Other attendants were Julie Lynn Schwarz of Atlanta, Amy Elizabeth Patterson of Houston, Texas, Lauren Ashley Carpenter of The Woodlands, sister of the bride, Sara Elizabeth Carpenter of The Woodlands, sister of the bride, Rebecca Lynn Roppolo of Gretna, La., sister of the bride, and Emily Elizabeth Roppolo of Gretna, sister of the bride.

The father of the bridegroom served as best man.

Groomsmen were Robert Earle Farr II of Atlanta, John Eric Howell II of Madison, formerly of Meridian, John Paul Goodrum III of Washington, D.C., Arthur Watson Bell II of Little Rock, Ark., John Robert Evans Jr. of Dallas, and Karl Douglas Dunkelman of Dallas. Ushers were W. Hulsey Smith, of Dallas, Lester Franklin Williamson III of Washington, D.C formerly of Meridian, Michael Lee Carter of Arlington, Texas, Matthew Nicholas Roppolo of Baton Rouge, La., and Richard Edward Harris, of Austin, Texas.

Nancy Keifer served as a scripture reader during the ceremony.

A reception was held at Augusta Pines Golf Club following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple resides in Dallas.
