Cardwell, Pierce
April Pierce and Robert Cole Cardwell, both of Meridian, were married on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Massey officiating.
Parents of the couple are Buddy and Rebecca Pierce, Ray and Cynthia Gibbons and Robert and Priscilla Cardwell.
Grandparents of the bride are Mae Jewell Sanders and the late Bill Sanders and Fairie Null and the late Julian Pierce.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Ed and Maggie Cardwell and Tommy and Margaret Dulaney.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Cindy Barker, pianist, and Jo Ann Grantham, organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless taffeta gown featuring a corset bodice with crystals and beading. The dropped waistline fell into a ruched skirt embellished with crystals that extended into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, the bride wore a chapel-length veil of silk illusion. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses sprinkled with pearls. Her accessories included her mother’s pearl earrings and her grandmother’s pearl necklace.
Ashley Hester, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Also attending the bride were Carissa Murray, Hallie Pearson, Abby Hawkins, Cristina Covington and Sara Henderson, all of Meridian.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Randy Mosley, Ragan Denham, Chris Banta, Tyler Etheridge, Zach Scott, Cecil Hester, Kyle Murray and Clint Denton, all of Meridian, and Ryan Fox of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Honorary groomsmen was Daniel Winstead, who is serving active duty in Iraq.
Program attendant was Sarah Sanders, cousin of the bride.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Starkville.
After graduation from Mississippi State University in December, the couple will reside in Meridian.
