Dabbs, Snowden



Emily Gay Snowden of Meridian and Roy Andrew Dabbs Jr. of Meridian were married on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Greg Snowden, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dabbs, all of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bride are Benjamin Campbell of Birmingham, Ala. and the late Gay Campbell and the late Elton and Almeta Snowden of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Smiley and the late Frances Smiley and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kennedy, all of Meridian, and the late Walter Dabbs.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Barry Germany, pianist; Gloria Hilliard, organist; Lauren Lemmler, violinist; Stephanie Garrett Maisel, cellist; and Paulette Jones, Jan Hicks, Carrie Jones and Jill Hicks, vocalists.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white organza gown that featured a scalloped-edge beaded lace bodice and the skirt had a pick-up detail. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Katie Snowden of Meridian, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Annie Cumberland of Alexandria, Va., Jill Hicks of Durham, N.C., Carrie Jones of Jackson, Karen Napp of Meridian, and Courtney Starke of Great Falls, Mont.

Madison Griswold and Sharayah Griswold, both of Franklin, Tenn., and Anna Parr of Olive Branch served as flower girls.

Justin Pickering of Louisville, Ky., served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Fredie Carmichael and Alex Pickett, both of Meridian, Lee Nettles of Jackson, Jonathan Strickler of Laurel and Christopher Whisnant of Kingsport, Tenn.

Scripture readers were Terri La Verdure and Terry Florey.

Rice bag attendants were Alexandria Campbell and Alana Jones.

Program attendants were Sonja La Verdure and Jeanna La Verdure.

A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Assisting were Bethany Campbell, Jenny Campbell, Mary Kathryn Covert, Sara Cumberland and Bekah Starke.

After a honeymoon in Hot Springs, Ark., the couple resides in Carriere.
