May, Boggan
Natalie Brookes Boggan and Caleb Elias May were married at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Decatur United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Smithey of East Philadelphia Baptist Church and Johnny Crosby of Decatur United Methodist Church officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Austin Boggan of Decatur and Dr. and Mrs. Donald Glenn May of Philadelphia.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Elias Addy, Iris Pellegrene Boggan and the late Dr. Austin P. Boggan, all of Decatur.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ellis Skinner and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Olen May, all of Philadelphia.
Musicians for the ceremony included Gloria Harms, pianist; Karen Floyd, flautist; and Celia Boggan, Marci Ferguson, Ada McGrevey, Amanda McGrevey and Emily Thompson, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown, which was also worn by her twin sister, was white matte satin and featured a strapless beaded bodice and A-line skirt that flowed into a chapel-length train. Her two-tiered elbow-length veil featured scalloped edges and was accented by bugle beads and seedless pearls. The bride’s jewelry included antique diamond earrings, a gift of her paternal great-grandmother. Complementing the bride’s ensemble was a hand-tied bouquet of white roses.
Matron of honor was her twin sister, Emily Boggan Thompson. Celia Leigh Boggan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Catherine McGrevey, cousin of the bride, Marci Hollingsworth Ferguson, Kelli Virginia Harris, Sarah Johnson Jones and Nikki Pearson Reed.
Flower girl was Lauren Caroline Addy, cousin of the bride.
Best men were the father of the bridegroom and Jess Wade May, brother of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen and ushers were Matthew Austin Boggan, brother of the bride, Michael Jeffrey Eichelberger, David Ryan Lynch, Billy Alexander McBeath, and James Andrew Murphy, James Brooks Lynch, Jr., Eric Lee Patterson and Harold Douglas Thompson III.
Ring bearer was Joshua Tyler Addy, cousin of the bride,
Serving as special attendants were Becky Addy Frink and Pam Addy Joyner, cousins of the bride; Stephanie Carol Skinner, cousin of the bridegroom; Whitney Harris Amis, Keri Keith Clanton, Marcie Breidinger Collins, Jessica Warren Mooney, Valeria Michelle Prince, Kasey Comans Thoms and Mae Walker Thornton.
Favor attendants were Kailey Brooke Skinner and Stephanie Jo Skinner; cousins of the bridegroom, and Anna Catherine Moore.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the American Legion Post 89.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Gold Room. On the morning of the wedding, the bride and her bridesmaids enjoyed a brunch given by friends at the home of Mrs. Jason Mangum in Decatur.
Following a honeymoon trip to St. John, U.S Virgin Islands, the couple is at home in Decatur, where the bride is a speech-language pathologist with the Newton County School District and the bridegroom is completing a clerkship with the 8th Circuit District.
