Johnson, Brewer
Christine Elizabeth Brewer and James Michael Johnson were married in a sunset ceremony on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Bon Villa, Gulf Shores, Ala., with the Rev. Jerry Peebles officiating.
Parents of the couple are Rayford Brewer of Carrollton and Christie Holly of Pelahatchie and Burl and Denise Johnson of Union.
The bride is the granddaughter of Maurine Mattson of Carrollton and the late Kenneth Mattson and Hazel Brodus of Gautier and the late Carl Brewer.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late James and Lillian Horton of Conehatta, the late Stewart and Bobby Harrell of Sebastopol and the late Burl T. Johnson Jr. of Philadelphia.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of candlelight chiffon featuring a sleeveless, sheered bodice, V-neckline and adorned with silver bugle beads and sequins. She carried a bouquet of tropical peach, pink and red roses tied with ivory ribbon.
Teresa Silk of Keller, Texas, aunt of the bride, served as matron of honor. Other attendants were Anna Johnson of Union, sister of the bridegroom, and Rachel Brewer of Carrollton, sister of the bride.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Daniel Johnson of Union, brother of the bridegroom; Billy Ray Holly of Pelahatchie, brother of the bride; Ken Brewer of Carrollton, brother of the bride; and Jonathan Brewer of Carrollton, brother of the bride.
James Silk, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the garden of Bon Villa.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Lester’s Restaurant in Orange Beach, Ala.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple resides in Grenada.
