McDonnell, Wadlington

On Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 7 p.m., Carrie Elizabeth McDonnell and James Warner Wadlington, both of Jackson, were united in marriage at Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Melton McDonnell of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Joseph Robinson of Starkville and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Reeder McDonnell of Meridian.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Warner Wadlington III of Sledge. He is the grandson of Mrs. Bedford Warner Wadlington Jr. of Sledge and the late Mr. Wadlington and Mrs. William Sanford Boswell of Cleveland and the late Mr. Boswell.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Revs. Jimmy Harrison and David Price. Nuptial music was provided by Joyce Tillery, organist; Peggy Sheppard, pianist; and Amy Roller, vocalist. Readers were Katherine Ann Isbell and Melissa Blair Love, both of Meridian. Jordan Willett of Jackson and Sarah Beth Fouts of Meridian were greeters and program attendants.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory strapless silk organza gown adorned with reembroidered French Alencon lace. The fitted bodice fell into an A-line skirt that flowed into a chapel-length train. For her headpiece, the bride wore an elbow-length veil of ivory silk illusion. For something blue and old, she wore her mother's lace and blue satin bridal garter. For prosperity and wealth, a lucky 1956 sixpence coin was placed in the bride's shoe by Emily Greaney.

Jennifer Melton McDonnell of Meridian, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lacey Elizabeth Cook of Jackson; Sarah Elizabeth Cowan of Little Rock, Ark.; Kellie Lee Giorgio of New Orleans, La.; Natalie Myatt Gower of Arlington, Va.; Emily Caroline Greaney of Dallas, Texas; Mary Clay Wadlington Morgan of Jackson, sister of the bridegroom; and Anna Susan Crell Wadlington of Canton.

Bedford Warner Wadlington III served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Vincent Farris Hopkin of Los Angeles; James Burleyson McArthur Jr. of Dallas; Matthew Bennett Morgan and Richard Ethan Zubic, both of Jackson; Michael Alan Roy of Diamondhead; Timothy Paul Tackett of Oxford; and William Bedford Wadlington of Canton, brother of the bridegroom. Ushers were Timothy Wayne Ellis of Marks; William Stanton Lauderdale of Sherman, Texas; and Patrick Kerlin Phillippi of Nashville.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Northwood Country Club. Music was provided by the band Luv Undercover. Family friends Sara Emma Hall of Meridian, and Jon Davis and Chad Miller, both of Birmingham, Ala., designed the floral arrangements, bouquets and decor for the ceremony and reception.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Northwood Country Club. Entertainment was provided by David Lauderdale, guitarist. At the home of Mrs. Cook, a luncheon honoring the bride and her attendants was hosted by Kerry Cook, Regina Myatt and Donna Ulmer. A wedding day brunch for out-of-town guests was hosted by family and friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hall.

Following a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Meridian.
