Dyess, Gates

Cynthia Michelle Gates and Stephen McGowan Dyess Jr., both of Meridian, were married on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gilbert Prince officiating.

Parents of the couple are Leslie Gates of Meridian and the late Jane Gates and Steve Dyess and Kathy Dyess, both of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hodges of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. James Gates of Macon.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mosby Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. William O. Dyess of Waynesboro.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Mandy Smith and Linda Arledge, vocalists; and Susan Copeland, organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless pearl gown detailed with bands of satin which tied below the waistline. Buttons flowed down the chapel-length train. She wore a waist-length veil. She also wore a matching pearl necklace and earrings.

Leah Dyess Rawson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was matron of honor. Other attendants were Blakely Manning, Crystal McCarty Dearing, Brooklyn Mayo and Kaci Stephens, all of Meridian.

Maci Blair Manning of Meridian was flower girl.

Proxy bride was Lauren Webb.

Landon Rawson and Logan Rawson, both of Tuscaloosa, served as ring bearers.

Best man was Mark Snyder of Tuscaloosa. Groomsmen and ushers were Will Matlock, Ryan Stewart, Justin Qualls, Drew Stribling and Jamaal Martin, all of Meridian; James Rawson of Tuscaloosa; and Bryan Jones of Biloxi.

Program attendant was Taylor Milling.

A reception was held at Meridian Little Theatre following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Erin Jones, Candice Dearman, Lacy Key and Jamie Ford.

After a honeymoon in Breckenridge, Colo., the couple resides in D'Iberville.
