Wilder, Barrett

Bess Barrett and Rob Wilder, both of Meridian, were married on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Shock of Tupelo officiating.

Parents of the couple are the late Dr. and Mrs. Ben Barrett of Wetumpka, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wilder of Meridian. The bride is also the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ledbetter of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ledbetter of Linden, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Barrett of Deatsville, Ala.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Edna Moore of Meridian, the late William Wilder and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul O'Leary of Meridian.

Music for the ceremony was provided by the Rev. Bob Peden, pianist; Joyce Tillery, organist; Paul Goldman, vocalist; and Benjamin Johnson, cellist.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Ross Barrett of Wetumpka, Ala. She wore her mother's wedding gown and veil. She carried tucked into her bouquet, a handkerchief which had previously been selected by her mother.

Elizabeth Entrekin of Nashville, Tenn., was maid of honor. Other attendants were Melissa Ledbetter, Erin Murphy and Lindsey Russell, all of Oxford; Claire Wilder and Jill Wilder, sisters of the bridegroom, both of Meridian; April Davidson of Meridian; Randi Langston of Sumrall; and Kathleen Shade of Atlanta.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were William Ledbetter of Birmingham, Ala.; Chris Crowe, Wesley Morgan, Blake Smith, Lamar Neal, Tyler Overby and Ben Davidson, all of Meridian; Drew Martin of Hattiesburg; and Ryan McMillan of Decatur.

Proxy bride was DeAnna Seymour of Harrison, Tenn., cousin of the bridegroom. Lewis Cole of Birmingham, cousin of the bride, read scripture.

Liza Grace Cole of Birmingham was flower girl and Brandon Martin of Sumrall was ring bearer.

Program and registry attendants were Sophie Crowe and Christopher Crowe, Laura Huff and Meredith Huff, all of Meridian.

A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Meridian.
