Smith, Whitley
Jamie Louise Whitley of Meridian and Charles Robert Smith of Holly Springs were married on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Shock officiating.
Parents of the couple are Dr. James Sidney Whitley and Linda Taylor Whitley of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. William Harry Smith Jr. of Holly Springs.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Noxie Jones Taylor and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas James Whitley.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mary Frances Smith and the late William Harry Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry Work.
Music for the ceremony was provided by members of the bride's family: Phyllis Taylor, pianist, Mary Taylor, organist, Joy Knight, vocalist, and David Taylor, guitarist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Italian gown featuring a fitted bodice. The bodice was highlighted with Swarovski crystal beading and platinum embroidery. The A-line skirt featured a pleated-back that swept into a chapel-length train. Her grandmother's handkerchief was wrapped around the bouquet stems of white roses.
Jennifer Hermetz York of Southaven and Molly Rutherford Swindell of Meridian served as matrons of honor. Ashley Michelle Macdonald was maid of honor.
Other attendants were Frances Claire Boyd and Courtney Lee Knop, both of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Louise Smith of Holly Springs, Jill Emerson Bell of Germantown, Tenn., Olivia Hooper Reed of Huntsville, Ala., Laura Suzanne Mims of Greenwood and Megan Suzanne Johnson of Ridgeland.
Honorary bridesmaids were Julia Lynn Pollman of Jackson, Whitney Weidmann Pool of Austin, Texas, Lydia Erin Briscoe of Como and Melissa Nicole Roberts of Crossett, Ark.
The bridegroom's brothers, William Harry Smith III and Joshua Tinsley Smith, served as best men.
Groomsmen were Adam Scott Bennett of Diamondhead, Harlan Eugene Chadwick of Southaven, Justin Garrett Elliott of Columbus, Samuel Curt Huey of Holly Springs, Michael Allen Odd of Oxford, James Seth Whaley of Potts Camp, William Hayden Hannah of Birmingham, Ala., and Heath Andrew Holmes of Florence, Ala.
Noah William Smith and Nathan Treadwell Smith, nephews of the bridegroom, served as acolyte and ringbearer.
Taylor Elizabeth Knight, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.
A reception was held at Union Station following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Como, after a recent move from Brandon.
