Roberson, Rainer
Ashley Michelle Rainer and James Gilbert Roberson Jr., both of Toomsuba, were married on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Cuba Baptist Church in Cuba, Ala., with the Rev. Tim Buchanan officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Carl Rainer and Mr. and Mrs. James Gilbert Roberson Sr., all of Toomsuba.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Oscar and Josephine Shelby and the late George W. and Margaret Rainer.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Gilbert and Blanch Roberson and the late Jim and Eugenia Moore.
Music for the ceremony was provided by John Brown of York, Ala. A special prayer and blessing was given by the Rev. Larry Moore of Senatobia, uncle of the bridegroom.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a custom designer gown that featured white beaded lace over silky taffeta in a V-neckline halter style. The veil was trimmed in satin and accented with silver crystals.
Trisha Rainer, of Toomsuba, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Lara Wood of Cuba, best friend of the bride, and Leslie Roberson, daughter of the bridegroom.
Flower girl was Alana Summerford, daughter of the bride.
Andy Mars of Whynot, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jay Wilson and Michael Mayerhoff, both of Meridian.
Ring bearer was Garrett Webb of York, Ala.
Assisting at the wedding and reception were Nicole Rowden, Julia Smiley, Leslie Gullahorn, Katelyn Gibson, Dusty Rowden, Crystal Shelby, Russ Smiley and Lindsey Smiley.
A reception was held in the church family life center immediately following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman, the couple resides in Toomsuba.
