Mims, Aycock

Anna Victoria Aycock of Meridian and John Morgan Mims of Vicksburg were marred on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Meridian with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Earl Aycock Jr. of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. John Howard Vaught Mims of Vicksburg.

Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Sidney Earl Aycock and the late Mr. Aycock and Mr. and Mrs. James Alexander Crane.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Oren DeVaughn Bailess and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Crawford Mims.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Jason Brooks, vocalist; Miriam Chesney, organist; Barry Germany, pianist; Jimmy Crane, grandfather of the bride, violinist, Algi Staskevicious, Ty Maisel, violinists; Tammy Luke, viola and Stephanie Maisel, cellist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a designer gown of embroidered lace over crystal organza. The embroidery featured silver thread, seed pearls, bugle beads and clear sequins. The back of the strapless gown plunged into a deep V-shaped into the waistline. The full mermaid skirt swept into a chapel-length train. She wore a veil of illusion that was edged with ribbon and sprinkled with crystals.

Regan Aycock Fargason of Fairhope, Ala., sister of the bride, was matron of honor.

Other attendants were Heather Marie Alexander of Summit; Amy Katherine Carmichael of Charleston, S.C.; Alexa Branton Crane and Lynley Anne Shields, both of Nashville, Tenn.; Jessica Lauren Elllis, Tiffani Yeager Minchew and Ashley Lauren Owen, all of Meridian; Emily Caroline Guyton of Tupelo; Olivia Russell McLauren of Memphis, Tenn.; Karen Olivia Merriwether of Washington, D.C.; Mary Lindley Mims and Neely Ann Nasif, both of Vicksburg; Abby Crane Moon of Starkville; and Margaret Frances White of Jackson.

Lindsey Bren Sinquefield of Oxford was proxy bride.

Best men were John Howard Vaught Mims and Joseph DeVaughn Mims, both of Vicksburg.

Groomsmen and ushers were Mims Llewellyn Boyce of West Monroe, La.; Richard Cory Castle and Brett Allen Bailess, both of Oxford; Kevin Davis Coker of Atlanta; Matthew Stanley Easterling, William Allen Hood II, Blake Bailess Nasif, Christopher Norman Nasif, Jack Clayton Harper and John Leslie Newton, all of Vicksburg; Peter Baxter Fargason of Fairhope, Ala.; Stephen Anthony Head of Raymond; Jonathan Craig Newton and Robert Oren Newton, both of Brandon; Brian Joseph Pettway and Gerald Crawford Mims III, both of Madison; and Mark Clifton Wright of Cordova, Tenn.

A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple resides in Meridian.
