Law enforcement agencies nationwide kicked off Monday the Click It or Ticket campaign to impress upon motorists the importance of wearing seat belts.
On Hwy. 19 South Monday afternoon, more than two dozen officers from the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, the Meridian Police Department and Troop H of the Mississippi Highway Patrol set up a safety checkpoint just north of the intersection with Hwy. 45.
Several arrests were made during the time officers were on the scene.
