Today
• Registration continues through May 23 for the Young Adult Summer Reading Program at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library. The program is free for students in grades seven through 12. Visit the Web site at www.meridian.lib.ms.us to print a registration form or visit the library. Every student that registers will be entered into a drawing for a MP3 player. • Noon — The Meridian Police Department will hold a special ceremony in honor of the police officers who have died in the line of duty. The Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Day service will be held at the Doughboy Monument on 23rd Avenue in downtown. The public is invited to attend to honor those who have died in the line of duty and to show their support for all local law enforcement officers.

• 5:45 p.m. — The Lauderdale County Country Dancers will meet at the Northeast Community Center on Briarwood Road, next to Northeast Lauderdale High School. Clogging will be taught at 5:45 p.m.; line dancing at 6:45 p.m. and a beginner class of square dancing at 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. Call Carol Hosch at (601)483-7016.
