• 7 a.m. - until — The East Mississippi Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale at the Farmer's Market, next to Union Station on Front Street in downtown Meridian. Proceeds will go to scholarships at Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University students in the horticulture programs. Call (601) 737-8435

• Noon — Women's Christian Support Group for those whose loved ones suffer with alcohol and drug problems will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 905 23rd Avenue. Call Charlie at (601) 483-5927.

• Registration continues through May 23 for the Young Adult Summer Reading Program at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library. The program is free for students in grades seven through 12. • Noon — The Meridian Police Department will hold a special ceremony in honor of the police officers who have died in the line of duty. The Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Day service will be held at the Doughboy Monument on 23rd Avenue in downtown. The public is invited to attend to honor those who have died in the line of duty and to show their support for all local law enforcement officers.
