Today

• 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. — Free Test of Adult Basic Education will be held for potential students can be scheduled now through Aug. 8. Call for an appointment at (662) 476-5085, (662) 476-5090 or email msam@eastms.edu. The testing will be done at Hawkins Career and Technical Building, 1512 Kemper St. at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba.

• 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. — Registration is under way for Summer Program at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Mississippi, 1717 45th Ave., for children ages five through 18. Call (601) 482-2544. Deadline to register is April 11.

• 9 a.m. - noon — Area high school seniors are invited to the annual Senior Days at East Central Community College in Decatur. Activities include concerts by the band, choirs and all campus clubs and organizations will have information booths. Call (601) 635-2111 or toll free 1 (877) 462-3222.

• 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. — AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will e-file taxes free for low and middle-income taxpayers. This service will be available at The Salvation Army Activity Center, 120 6th Avenue (B Street and 6th Avenue). Bring a copy of 2006 tax return, 2007 tax forms, picture ID, and Social Security cards for all family members. First come, first served. Call (601) 692-2758.

• 11:30 a.m. — Central Mississippi Chapter of National Association Retired Federal Employees will meet at Ronnie's Steak and Grill, 734 Pecan Avenue in Philadelphia. All current and retired federal employees are invited to attend.Call (601) 389-1946.

• Noon - 1 p.m. — National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold its regular meeting at Weems Mental Health Center, 1415 College Drive. Bring a brown bag lunch. Call Kristen Owen at (601) 483-4821 or email namimeridian@gmail.com.

• 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. — Area 5 Special Olympics Track and Field Competition will be held at Meridian Community College. Call Steve Owen at (601) 693-2665. Spectators are welcome and bring a lawn chair. Athletes will be awarded ribbons and will qualify to advance to the State Games held at Keesler Air Force Base.
