Today

• 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. — Free Test of Adult Basic Education will be held for potential students can be scheduled now through Aug. 8. Call for an appointment at (662-476-5085, (662)476-5090 or email at msam@eastms.edu. The testing will be done at Hawkins Career and Technical Building, 1512 Kemper St. at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba.

• 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m. — Pre-registration for the general public for the school year 2008-2009 will begin at St. Patrick Catholic School, 2700 Davis St. Call (601) 482-6044.

• 9 a.m.-1 p.m. — AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will E-file taxes for free for low and middle income taxpayers, at the Salvation Army Activity Center, 120 Sixth Avenue (B Street and Sixth Avenue). Bring a copy of 2006 tax return, 2007 tax forms, picture ID, and Social Security cards for each family member. Call (601) 692-2758.

• Noon — Women's Christian support group meeting for those whose loved ones suffer with alcohol and drug problems will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 905 23rd Ave. Call Charlie at (601) 483-5927.

• 12:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 3753 19th St. Call (601) 482-2498 or the 24 hour information/hotline at (601) 527-6669.
