Man indicted for touching child

HATTIESBURG, Miss. —  

A Forrest County grand jury has indicted a Hattiesburg business owner on a touching of a child for lustful purposes charge.

The Hattiesburg American reports 49-year-old Curtis James Johnson was served his indictment in December after the grand jury returned it in November.

The alleged incident took place April 3.

The document accuses him of touching or rubbing the body of a child under the age of 16.

Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said the fondling incident allegedly took place at Johnson's Unetta Street gym. He did not release the victim's exact age.

Johnson filed a waiver of arraignment, pleading not guilty after he was served his indictment.

He is currently set to stand trial on March 26.

It was unclear whether Johnson has an attorney.
