Petal teen dies in accident

PETAL, Miss. —

Petal police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy.
 
Police say Addison McKinley died from injuries he sustained while attempting to get into a vehicle about 9 p.m. Monday.
 
Detective Mitch Nobles tells The Hattiesburg American McKinley was taken to the hospital where he later dead.
 
Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said McKinley was pronounced dead at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday at Forrest General Hospital.
 
Benedict says McKinley suffered a closed head injury while trying to get into a vehicle.
