Troy Ford pleads guilty to manslaughter

NATCHEZ, Miss. —  

A 29-year-old Natchez man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for shooting and killing a man in 2011.

The Natchez Democrat reports Troy J. Ford entered a guilty plea Monday in the death of 38-year-old Willie Lee Chatman.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Chatman was shot three times in the head on Sept. 15, 2011.

A motorist spotted Chatman's body lying in McNeil Road approximately 150 yards from U.S. 84.

Ford was arrested and charged with murder the day after the shooting.

Ford faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
