1 dead in Marshall County accident

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — Authorities say 17-year-old died in a two-vehicle accident in Marshall County.

Jimmy Warren, of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal the two vehicles, an SUV and a car, collided near the crest of a hill on St. Paul Road.

Warren says three people were transported to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, two by helicopter. Their ages were 15, 16 and 18.

He says the 17-year-old male, the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m. Monday.

The accident remains under investigation and the names of those involved in the crash have not been released.
