Man on trial for capital murder in 5-day spree

JACKSON, Miss. —  

A trial continues for a man accused of capital murder and other offenses in a five-day 2010 crime spree.

Beyond capital murder, Bennie Gunn, 25, also faces Hinds County charges of carjacking, aggravated assault and armed robbery.

Prosecutors say video caught Gunn and Dante Evans at the murder scene of Jackson delivery man William Morris on Sept. 10, 2010.

Gunn and Evans are accused of carjacking a man at a Jackson gas station on Sept. 11, 2010, then shooting two people while robbing a Jackson motel the next day.

Gunn has already been sentenced to 45 years in prison for a carjacking that followed in Philadelphia, Miss. Police chased Gunn from a Wal-Mart to the Golden Moon Casino, where he stole a truck at gunpoint before being caught in Carthage
