Lady Eagles suffer heartbreaking defeat in OT

MERIDIAN — The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles were looking to bounce Tuesday after having its seven-game winning streak snapped last Wednesday against Jones, but it was not meant to be.

The Lady Eagles dropped at 3-2 double overtime decision Tuesday night on the road at Pearl River Community College. PRCC scored the game winnings goal with just 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to secure the victory.

MCC trailed 2-0 after one half of play, but MeMe Huff would lead the charge in the second half for the green and white. Huff scored a pair of goals, one in the 58th minute and another in the 64th minute to tie the game.

MCC (7-2, 3-2) will now look to return to the win column as the Lady Eagles play host to Itawamba Community College this Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
