Meridian wins two; Northeast versus Southeast cancelled

ELLISVILLE — Meridian High School earned a sweep in two games played at South Jones High School Saturday.

The Wildcats opened with a 10-3 win against South Jones, followed by a 12-2 win against Wesson High School. In Game 2, pitcher Tray Warren threw a five-inning no-hitter.

Meridian (6-8, 0-4) will play again Tuesday at Oak Grove High School.

Northeast versus Southeast cancelled

In other area baseball news, Northeast and Southeast Lauderdale high  schools’ baseball game against each other was cancelled, according to Northeast’s official Twitter page.
