MCC women down Delgado

MERIDIAN —     The Meridian Community College women’s basketball team collected a key Miss-Lou Conference victory with a 53-42 win against Delgado on Wednesday night on the road.

    Sophomore guard Gelese Lampton led the way in scoring for the Eagles with 16 points, while former Newton High star Ashton McNichols added 14 in the road victory.

    MCC (15-8, 3-2) will return to action Saturday night on the road for another important Miss-Lou Conference showdown with Southern Shreveport beginning at 6 p.m. The game is scheduled to be played at Milsaps College in Jackson.
