MERIDIAN — Clarkdale’s Jonathan Porter continued his early season dominance, as he no-hit Scott Central in a 17-0 win at home Tuesday night.

The Bulldog ace went all five innings, striking out six batters while not surrendering a walk. The only blemish on Porter’s line came, as the Bulldogs booted a ball late in the game to end the his shot at a perfect game.

“He just did his usual thing and filled the strike zone up,” Clarkdale head coach Scott Gibson said. “He gave us a key divisional win, and we swung the bats well for him tonight.”

The win moves Porter to a perfect 7-0 on the season.

“He’s really got a chance to be something special,” Gibson said. “As long as he keeps continuing to work, there is no reason he can’t keep getting better.

Chance McDonald led Clarkdale at the plate, going 3/4 with a double and two RBIs, while Blake Griffith also chipped in with two hits and three RBIs. Porter also had a double at the plate for the Bulldogs.

Clarkdale improves to 14-3 (6-1) with the win and will travel to Scott Central on Friday.
