MERIDIAN —     STARKVILLE - After a two-game homestand, Mississippi State hits the road once more as it travels to The Plains for a showdown at Auburn on Saturday.

Tip at Auburn Arena is set for 12:47 p.m. on SEC TV, with Dave LaMont and Kyle Macy providing courtside analysis.

The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 13-11 record and a 3-8 mark in SEC play. On Wednesday, MSU raced out to an early 14-point lead against Georgia but ultimately fell as the visitors claimed a 75-55 comeback win.

Craig Sword paces Mississippi State with a 13.0 scoring clip. Gavin Ware also averages double figures in the scoring column with 10.5 points and is fourth in the conference in rebounding with 7.6 boards per game.

Auburn (11-11, 3-8) dropped a 64-56 decision to Kentucky in the midweek. Chris Denson has impressed all season for the Tigers, as he leads the league in scoring with 20.5 points per outing. KT Harrell is

sixth in the SEC with an 18.9 scoring clip.

The teams met earlier this season in Starkville, as Mississippi State earned an 82-74 victory. Roquez Johnson led the Bulldogs with 18 points, while Colin Borchert added 17 points.

A win against Auburn would be Coach Rick Ray’s third in just two

seasons, the most against any team. MSU is looking for its first win in Auburn since the 2007-2008 season.

Following Saturday’s matchup, the Bulldogs will face yet another squad of Tigers as it travels to LSU on Wednesday. The 7 p.m. tilt will be televised by SEC TV.
