EMCC football tryouts slated for Feb. 14

MERIDIAN —     SCOOBA - Reigning NJCAA Champion East Mississippi Community College will conduct open football tryouts for high school seniors on Friday, Feb. 14 on the Scooba campus.

    Special teams registration for kickers, punters and snappers will begin at 10 a.m. at EMCC's Student Activities Building located across the street from the school's old football game field. Registration for offensive and defensive players will get started at 11 a.m.

    Interested high school players are encouraged to bring their own workout gear, cleats, towels, running shoes, high school transcript and personal highlight DVD for participation in EMCC's football tryouts.

    Anyone needing additional information in advance of the Lions' Feb. 14 football tryouts should contact EMCC assistant football coach/offensive coordinator Marcus Wood at 601-934-5119 or EMCC assistant football coach/defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley at 601-934-7303.
