MERIDIAN — Four football players from Meridian High School took part in "National Signing Day" by inking national letters of intent during a ceremony at the MHS Multi-Purpose Building in the south end zone of Ray Stadium Wednesday. The players, from left, included Pierre Byrd and Richard McQuarley — who both signed with Itawamba Community College; Cory Davis, who inked with NJCAA National Champion East Mississippi Community College; and Austin Holt, who committed to East Central Community College. The quartet of Wildcats signed in front of a large crowd of family and friends and were among a host of area athletes who made their college intentions official Wednesday.
