Newton County 14
In their second contest Saturday, Newton County used a seven-run second inning to break things open against former division rival Magee.
The Lady Cougars, 10-2, got a single, double, two runs and three RBIs from Bishop; a single, double and RBI from Savannah Gates; and a 2-for-2 performance from Davis that included a couple of runs scored.
Lampton scored two runs; Cassidy Blount was 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBIs; Reeves had one hit, two runs and three RBIs; Hannah May was 1-for-1 with a run; Alexander had one hit and one RBI; Meagan Higginbotham had an RBI; and Walker and Shelby Barrett both scored once.
Dalmerika King (1-0) went the distance to earn the victory, striking out two and scattering four hits.

South Panola 6
Quitman dropped its first of two games Saturday in the Clarkdale Spring Fling, losing to South Panola 6-2 at Northeast Park.
Kallie Belcher received the loss for the Panthers.
Mallory Lee led the Quitman at the plate, going 2/3 with a double in the game. Tori Dew went 1/1 with and RBI double and Camille McKenna went 1/1 with an RBI as well.
Bibb County (Ala.) 4
Quitman lost its second game of the afternoon, falling to Bibb County 4-1 to wrap up the Clarkdale Spring Fling.
Abigail Toomey got the loss for the Panthers, while Whitney Neely and Tori Dew collected the Panthers only two hits in the contest.
Dew hit an RBI double to give Quitman its only run.
The two losses drop Quitman to 3-7 on the season. The Panthers will travel to Newton County on Tuesday.
