Roundup: West Lauderdale beats MHS

MERIDIAN — The West Lauderdale baseball team took down rival Meridian Saturday, beating the Wildcats 10-2 at home.

    Reed Michael earned the win for West Lauderdale, giving up six hits and striking out two batters.

    Cory Davis picked up the loss for the Wildcats

    Blake Anderson led the Knights at the plate with a single and a double in the game. Will Stokes had two hits, and Kevin Henson, Colten McKeithen and Ryan Lane each had a double for West.

    Jacoby Cole had a home run  for Meridian, and Jamal Horn had two singles.

    West Lauderdale improved to 15-3 (8-0) with the win.

Southeast 14

West Point 2

    Dylan Rivers led the Southeast Lauderdale baseball team to a 14-2 win over West Point Saturday afternoon at Quitman High School.

    Rivers (3-1) went four innings, giving up two hits and striking out six batters.

    At the plate Rivers collected two hits for the Tigers. Mason Irby had a single and three 3 RBIs as well for Southeast.

   

Southeast 4

Pearl 1

    Gage Hagan went all seven innings, as Southeast Lauderdale won its second game of the afternoon, beating Pearl 4-1 at Quitman High School.

    Hagan (2-0) only allowed three hits in the game and struck out seven batters.

    Dylan Rivers led the Tigers at the plate, knocking in a two-run double in the first inning. Nathan Ross and Cody Shirley also had RBI singles in the win.

    Southeast moves to 14-5 (6-0) on the year.
