Newton County's Elise Gibbs is the area's lone representative in this weekend's Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Tennis Tournament.
The annual MAC event is slated for Saturday at Parham Bridges Tennis Center in Jackson. Action in the North/South format begins at 1 p.m.
Gibbs captured a state championship in girls' doubles for Newton County last spring and is one of just six ladies on the South's all-star roster.
An East Central signee, she was a Class 3A state runnerup in singles in 2007 before winning the doubles' title with Claire Tadlock in May.
Northwest Rankin's Anna Hughes and Paul Buckley of St. Andrew's are the South coaches; while the North coaches are Louis Nash of Oxford and Quess Hood of Ripley.
