Meridian swimmers earn nine medals at State Games

Meridian swimmers brought home nine medals from the 2009 State Games of Mississippi Masters Swimming meet. The event was held June 27 at Meridian Community College as one of the 29 sports in the 18th annual State Games of Mississippi.

Deanna Price took three gold and two silver medals in the Women's 30-34 age group. The gold medals came in the 400 meter freestyle with a time of 8:25:31, the 50 meter backstroke at 49:76, and the 50 meter breaststroke with a 53:57. Price earned silver medals in the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:38:23 and the 50 meter freestyle at 41:49. 

Lucy Odowd had a gold, two silvers and a bronze in the Women's 25-29 age group. Odowd earned the gold medal in the 100 meter IM with  a time of 1:49:23. Her silver medals came in the 50 meter backstroke at 47:45 and the 50 meter Fly with a 50:65. Her bronze medal time was 40:57 in the 50 meter freestyle.
