from staff reports

Calvary Christian School's Kyle Koch struck out nine and didn't give up a single hit to help the Cougars to a 10-0 victory over visiting Immanuel Christian in area high school baseball action from late Tuesday night.

It was the second no-hitter and second win of the day for Calvary, which beat Immanuel 13-3 in the first game of their doubleheader at Q.V Sykes Park.

In the second game, Koch fanned nine and walked two in improving to 5-2 on the year.

His teammates backed him with seven runs in the first, another in the second and two in the fifth to win by the 10-run rule.

Johnathan Bartlett had a pair of hits and three RBIs to lead Calvary's offensive attack, while Koch added a double. Justin Sylvester and Terry Jordan had one hit apiece.

The Cougars are now 8-6 overall and 8-4 in MPSA District 3-A action.
