Signposts on the road to Armageddon: Nation no longer Christian

MERIDIAN —    YHWH, the God of the United States, was rejected by 52 percent of the people. America said, as an alternate option, we do not adhere to what God says. Without a doubt this is the most significant event in 2012. You, as a Christian, are in the minority and this nation is no longer a Christian Nation.

In addition to other recorded prophecies there is another clear Biblical sign regarding the end of the church age. No, it is not the Mayan calendar. God does not follow the date setting of man. God simply loves the Mayan people and offers them the gift of life for those who choose it.

When the Apostle Paul was questioned about the Lord’s returning to take His followers and believers, more commonly referred to as the Coming of the Lord, Paul responded to the Thessalonians with a second letter. In that letter he listed at least two things that must happen before God closes out time.

First, instruction came from Paul that there were false teachers saying that the Lord had come back and many missed Him. The Bible records in Thessolonians 2:2-3, “Don't be so easily shaken, deceived or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun.” Don't believe them. “That Day will not come unless the falling away comes first."

Falling away from God is a significant sign of end time truth. Europe’s church attendance varies from 2 percent in Russia to 27 percent in the United Kingdom.  The Catholic Church contributes as much as 45 percent of all who profess and attend the Christian churches. In 2004, pollsters found 17.7 percent of the U.S. population attended church and the percentage is probably less today.

Second, in the Thessalonian instruction from Paul, God revealed to him that the Lord was not coming back (Revelation 19) until after the “man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” There is a strong delusion in the world today. Why? (Hosea 4:6 NLT) “My people are being destroyed because they don't know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.”

Mathew 24 quotes Jesus and lists conditions to occur at the last generation.  A generation is considered to be 100 years in Genesis 15, in Psalm 90:10 it is considered to be 70 to 80 years and theologians have calculated the average length of a generation to be 58 years. The specific reference link to the last days is the reestablishment of the Nation of Israel on May 15, 1948. With the generation time line in the picture one would expect the Coming of the Lord before 2048.

Continue to watch Syria as a last day’s sign that you can read in the Meridian Star. As bombs continue to reduce Damascus “to a ruinous heap” the Rebels continue their quest to oust Dictator Assad from power.

Damascus may be the oldest city in the world as it is being beaten, bombed and destroyed by the Syrian War. The Meridian Star published Dec. 7, 2012 (A10) that the Syrian Dictator was considering the use of chemical weapons. Should this come about not even a lizard will be able to crawl across the city. Never in the history of the world has Damascus been destroyed, but the bible says in Isaiah 17:1 “it will be a ruinous heap.”

When this occurs SignPosts will address the Prophecy fulfillment.
