The Meridian Star
Three ''bored'' teenagers decided to kill someone for fun, reported the AP, Oklahoma City, Okla. An Australian student athlete was fatally shot while jogging in Duncan, Okla. this past week.
The disregard for life caused the Australian deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer to say, “It is another example of murder mayhem on Main Street.” Fischer went on to say, “People thinking of going to the USA for business or tourists trips should think carefully about it given the statistical fact you are 15 times more likely to be shot dead in the USA than in Australia per capita per million people.”
What has happened to the soul of America?
Egypt is on edge after 278 people were killed on one of the bloodiest days since the revolution two years ago. The U.S. envisioned peace and democracy to Egypt. Sunday's Meridian Star (8/16), page A6, states, “The President (Obama) insists that the U.S. stands with Egyptians seeking a democratic government.” This will never occur in Islam. What has happened to the soul of America?
The President, raised as a Muslim, knows that Islam does not teach and support the independent law of democratic self-determination. The President knows that the Qur’an allows no other rule of law than Islamic Law.
The President has been taught the Qur'an (4:141) that states, "... And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.” Democracy allows anyone to serve in a position of power over others regardless of religious belief and Islamic Law does not. A democratic nation is by nature one that is NOT governed by Islamic law, meaning that a Muslim citizen would have divided loyalty. Never think for a minute that you are friends of a Muslim! Qur'an (3:28) - "Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers.”
America, at one time a Christian Nation, now believes in the right to self-determination without God, without divine prayer and without discipline. We continue to ask, What is truth? As a Nation we look to education to fill the vacuum in every person and our children are raised without discipline, without love, without time from parents and without a goal in life. No goal is needed when every need is furnished by the government — food, shelter, a check for spending money and the body is supplied. But, what has happened to the soul?
God says we are created in His image (His likeness) as a triune being both materially and immaterially. (Gen1:27) God declared that He breathed upon Adam and he became a living soul, (Gen2:7) The soul or mind is where we remember, imagine, have conscience, reason and affection as we choose our way of life.
Who nurtures the soul? God says in 3 John 1:2, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” When you die the soul is that part that goes with you to heaven or hell. Luke 16 gives the story of the rich man in hell who remembers Lazarus on earth.
Is the spirit of man developed by mother, dad, family picnics, friends and etcetera or does the spirit of man simply evolve? Workings of the spirit are faith, hope, reverence, prayer and worship. The spirit, if stripped of your physical body and soul, would only have the real you left.
The spirit is the heart of man or basically the core of man. Your spirit was the only thing changed when you received salvation from God. God reveals to the spirit of man the deep things of God. (1 Cor 2:10) “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” (1 Cor 2:11) The Bible says; “There is a spirit in man; and the inspiration of the Almighty gives understanding”(Job 32:8) to that spirit.
In Numbers 16:22 the Word states He is “The God of the spirits of all flesh.” We may say with the Psalmist that we “are fearfully and wonderfully made.”
